The most common application for these buttons are under the dinette cushions. In this area they fit the dinette cushions to the lower dinette frame, and prevent the cushions from sliding. They install with a machine screw into a speed nut in this instance.

Other applications can be under sink covers, lift out cooktops and more secured with a wood screw.
