The drive hub extension threads onto the drive shaft. This crank component is what you see sticking out of the camper, and what you put the crank handle into to raise and lower the roof.
Installation Tip: This kit comes with a fine thread and coarse thread 5/8 nut. Check your correct thread size before installation and use a thread locking agent like LOCK-TITE when installing the 5/8 nut.

Our pop-up camper would no longer go up as the drive hub would just spin and spin without gripping any of the gears. We were able to buy the fine thread drive shaft and drive hub extension 5681 to easily solve the issue. The videos and parts/owners manuals provided on the Coleman Popup Parts website were extremely helpful in making sure we ordered the correct parts. We are in the process of updating /repairing parts of our camper and will be buying everything off this website. Hello, The part came fast… I had to drill a new pinhole, and getting the pin in the new pinhole was a little challenging. Overall, easy install. The instructional video was very informative.
Derek helped tremendously with identifying what part I needed and how to replace it. Got the part quickly and the repair worked. My roof wasn’t coming down, but replacing the extension tube fixed it. That was a few months ago, but now the roof won’t raise, so now I’m back and trying to figure out if I need to get the drive shaft part replaced. The threads appear to be worn out.
Couldn’t have done it without you. New whiffletree, coupler, drive tube and interestingly enough there wasn’t a bearing cup in there so I put one of those in too. All new stainless fasteners and we are ready to camp!

This drive hub extension kit was a perfect fit for our Coleman Fleetwood Mesa popup lower crank assembly. I called the Popup parts service department with a question about the installation, and got the advice I needed. Their YouTube videos are really excellent for a do-it yourself guy like me. I previously ordered these parts from an Ebay seller, but received the wrong parts and returned them. Our lift system works like new!
Had to buy a longer one than the old one, but I cut it to size. I should have watch the video of "How drive hub extension tubes work on pop up campers" before I started to work on the lift system. It would have saved me time and money. I was missing the inner parts of the extension tube. Now my crank system works perfectly.
Part is exactly what I ordered, but as previously explained, these tubes come with pre-drilled holes at one end of the tube that are universal. I did have to drill my own holes more towards the center for my 2000 Santa-Fe. One other issue I had was the tube threads were a bit tight to fit with the male threads of the crank assembly. Was very careful not to cross thread when installing. Overall satisfied as the part replacement solved the problem.

Bought this and had it delivered to Canada. It wouldn't have been so bad to pay the ridiculous price for a 6" metal tube with some washer and bolts if it was properly fitted. The pin that is supposed to go in the metal tube will not go it, no matter how much pounding/pushing/hammering we do. We will have to re drill the hole in the tube for the pin. NOT HAPPY at all.
