The break away switch is located on the trailer A frame, and automatically engages the trailers brakes in the event of a separation while towing.

  • Completely sealed breakaway device
  • Insures braking on towed vehicles during accidental separation of trailer and towing vehicle
  • Required in some states
  • Emergency use only
  • Lanyard measures 36 inches in length
  • Switch measures 4-1/2 inches in length

Yearly testing is recommended. Pulling the pin out of a fully operating switch engages the electric trailer brakes.
