The kill switch connects the 12 volt power when the camper is setup and ready to camp.Â
The most common location is at the galley, under the sink and stove. Other locations can be at the beds, commonly on highwall units that do not use galley lifts. These campers will use a wall mounted switch and strike plate most commonly.
For galley systems, When the galley sink is raised into position, the switch is pressed by the weight of the sink / stove system and 12 volt power comes on.
For high wall units, the switch can be on a front wall. A plate presses the switch when the bed goes out and the 12 volt power comes on.
Why is this switch important?
It disconnects the 12 volt power when the camper is lowered so lights cannot accidently left on. If lights are left on and the camper is closed, the heat from the lamps can burn and damage the canvas that is folded under them.
This switch is the exact replacement and the original baseplate did not need replacing. Simple pulloff, push on the two wires already with connectors. Phillips screw driver is needed for the base screws. The white cover strike plate needed gentle bend inward for a firmer contact, just a 1/2 and inch. Test it with ceiling lights on, then bed moving in and out. This is the backup safety kill witch if the individual light is left on and the exit / entrance light switch not also turned off. Avoid the ceiling light burn when the camping top is lowered. GM

Worked as expected, easy install. (Wires from the original switch have to be cut and replaced with proper connectors.) Tools needed: Phillips head screw driver, wire cutters, wire crimper, female push on connectors.
the switch works great. My 12 volts now works without bypassing the switch and creating an unsafe condition. SAFTY FIRST. GREAT price, quick on shipping and fits the clips from the previous installed switch.
When the Galley kill switch failed I used the water pump switch since I normally have water hooks. It works but not as well as the rocker kill switch. When the new switch from Coleman pop up parts arrived it only took a few moments to install. It works great!
The plastic wheel well & A/C gasket haven’t been installed yet but when weathe gets better I will try to get you a review. Thanks for being there!

This part broke mid vacation and we ordered immediately. It arrived by the time we got home and it was a simple 1 minute replacement. It fit perfect and works like new!
I didn't know why my inside lights were not working so I looked up the trouble shooter and it told me about the kill switch. I purchased it and it came in fast and all my lights work. Thank you.
It was a direct replacement of the existing switch. I removed the old switch and used the existing screws to install the new switch. Couldn't be any easier.
Recently my kill switch died.. that’s the button that kills power to the inside lights and outlets when you flip the galley to the down position for travelling. It took me a couple of searches to find the right name for it. I came to this site and found the part and ordered it. It took less than a week to arrive here (London Ontario). It was a 5 minute install and is still working after three camping trips.. Good Job all around.
