This latch fits the grey front storage boxes on Fleetwood pop up's.
This item is a product upgrade from the original. Here is an example of the style that this latch replaces.
The original latch shown above has a design flaw in our opinion. The cam bar that allows it to pivot is prone to breaking at the hinge. The new latch kits do not have locks built in. If you need a lock on your storage box, we recommend adding a simple paddle latch and keylock.
I am from Canada! After your bill which was pricey, I got a COD bill for$60.00 more! Not worth it to buy from US. I had Laraoke components from Ohio sent to me cheaper!
The locking device came as ordered, including the installation hardware. The miss for me was that the fastener I was replacing had a different mounting configuration than the one I received from coleman popup parts. In order to use the kit I recieved, I had to drill new holes for both the latch and the fastener. The picture on the website did not show the mounting configuration or a picture of the fastener in the open position, or I wouldn't have been surprised by the difference and the extra labor required.
The fastener itself seems to be of decent quality and durable.
Lastly, for the price, I would have expected a lock and key. This kit does not include either, and I don't believe the device has the ability to be locked.
One of the original latches on the front box broke. I ordered the replacement, which was different than the original, and installed it. I haven't really used it since installing, so I'm not sure how it will perform. I'm kind of disappointed that it's made of rubber and not the hard plastic like the original. Who knows, maybe it'll be just fine and last 13 years like the original. No issues at all with Coleman Popup Parts. I'll be back the next time I need a part because I know you'll have something specifically for my Fleetwood.
These were easy to install and work like a champ. Good replacement. If there is one thing I could ask for different, it would be to offer some kind of locking device. These replace the latches on the storage box but do not offer any security.
I followed the installation video and it was far too loose so had to re-install it. However, as I had already drilled holes where it recommended, I was unable to simply move it due to the holes being too close for comfort. I ended up using the metal plates that came with the original latch, which provided a lot of additional strength.
