This spring holds the ratchet paw cam onto the ratchet wheel gear.
The ratchet paw is what gives the Coleman and Fleetwood pop ups their familiar clickty-clickty sound when raising.
Installation tip: The ratchet paw needs to be "rolled back" and resistance set when installing. Almost a full turn is required for the proper tension. Hold the ratchet paw firmly with it rolled back. Now set the ratchet paw into the gear with the gear against the housing.
