ABS Roof Seal 41'

ABS Roof seal.

This is the original Coleman / Fleetwood top seal. Comes by a 41 foot roll to fit any and all Coleman or Fleetwood pop up that has an ABS roof.

This is not an old stock item, this seal was recently manufactured to offer the best in today's seal technology to better protect your camper. A double sided adhesive tape inside the seal allows you to install this product with no glue. An extra spray adhesive has been added to the tape to offer a stronger installation.

The channel of the seal is about 3/8 of an inch wide at the opening that accepts onto the bottom edges of roof. The whole seal stands 1-1/2 inches tall.

Here is some information to assist you in determining exactly which roof your pop up has.

What is the material that your roof is made of?

  • ABS plastic. This roof is one piece, having rounded sides and corners. The roof seal attaches directly to the bottom of this roof.

  • Metal. These roofs are sectioned in pieces, and have corner caps on all 4 corners. The roof seal installs into a channel inside the roof, and is cut into 4 pieces with 45 degree corners.

Here is the metal roof seal.

    Installation:

Remove the old seal. Clean the area with a 99% alcohol solution. Keep the area wet with a 50% alcohol solution so the seal will slide easily. Re install the seal by pressing the top seal back onto the lip firmly, then use a wooden roller to assure proper contact of the tape. You can choose to install the seal with the tape located to the outside of the roof, or the inside. In either direction the seal bulb will compress and form a tight seal. You may find it easier to install with the tape to the outside of the roof.

Work in small sections at a time. Start at the center of the roof, and work the seal into the corners carefully as not to stretch the seal. To help hold the seal up when installing, use blue tape or masking tape along the edge of the roof around the seal. Cut the remaining seal if any when the whole roof has been re-sealed. The seal has a thin metal inside the clamping area. Heavy snips are recommended to cut the seal. A small amount of super glue will join the two ends together. Allow the seal to cure for 24 hours after installation.

When you open you box you may find that some of the red tape has fallen from the adhesive tape in spots. This will not affect the grip of the tape. We have left the tape removed from a roll for over one year, and the seal installed fine. The film off the tape in spots is caused by shipping, the seal rolled up in a box and the spray adhesive that was added during manufacturing.
