This chain drive crank system is commonly located behind a rear body panel. This is the compression system and ratchet upper crank. When you turn the crank handle to the right, the brake engages within this unit. A chain then drives the lower lift and the roof raises.
Please note : Hard to raise roof issues are not fixed by replacing the crank assembly. This problem is typically caused by a failing thrust bearing or lack of maintenance. Please take a look at our products and video's covering hard to raise roof issues.
Designed to weld onto the plate to replace the entire upper crank assembly. Remove the old upper crank, and re-weld this assembly back in place. A bushing located in the mounting plate for the drive shaft makes for an easy alignment and installation.
Mounting plate measures 4 inches by 4-1/2 inches.
Drive hub extension measures 3-1/4 inches in length as measured from the mounting plate.
The assembly complete measures 5 inches tall.
Chain drive gear has 22 teeth. Comes with drive hub extension with hardware installed.

Would have given 5 star's because of sprocket OG WAS 24 TEETH NEW ONE IS 22 shorting the Cain to fit was a major hassle but once that was done it works perfectly on 98 coleman Grandview sp.
Crank assembly replacement worked just as advertised. I decided to make the bracket removable in hopes of avoiding another cut and weld job in the future. Great product!
I had this part replaced at a local RV dealer. They cut an opening in the back of my trailer to weld in the new part. I will now have to make a cover to go over the opening. I am happy how the new crank assembly works.
Pricey part, for having to cut the old one off the plate and then re-weld the new one back on the plate. Would be worth the price charged it it came already installed on a new plate.

Hello Marty and thank you for your purchase! There are a few reasons why we do not offer these crank systems with the plate installed. First is the amount of sizes of the plates. As you can likely guess, there were more than one. Quite a few more than one! The plates are also very heavy and large, which would substantially increase the cost of the item, and the shipping charges. We hope this information is helpful, and appreciate you writing!
As the new owners of a 2010 Coleman Sun Valley pop up we are so grateful to Derek Smith and Coleman Pop Up Parts! Or pop up roof would not stay up. Our Google search for help lead us to Coleman Pop Up Parts and all the excellent videos by Derek Smith. Not being sure exactly which part we needed to replace or repair, a call to Derek resulted in our order for a crank assembly which we received in the mail within 5 days! did not fit exactly, the sprocket had 1 less tooth than the original so I had to modify the mounting position. The crank handle tube is made out of a much stronger material so it should not break like the original did but the price was really high but it works good.
What an amazing first experience dealing with these guys! First time owner of a 2002 Coleman popup, and crank assembly broke before first trip out. These guys confirmed that the online order was correct for my model and came through on the delivery so I could get it installed and repaired in time for the booked weekend.
